Freezer Space

ByEditor March 14, 2022March 21, 2022

Are you ready to order freezer beef for the first time? If you have a lot of questions, you aren’t alone. Many people want to know how much freezer space is needed. The rule of thumb is: 1 cubic foot space for every 35-40 lbs packaged meat. A classic 18.1 cu. ft. refrigerator has a freezer of 4 cubic feet (many newer models are larger). That means you can hold at least 140 pounds frozen food, and you could figure a quarter beef would fit nicely in one regular sized refrigerator freezer.

Also, here is a photo, taken from a recent order, to give you a visual idea of the size of one quarter of a beef.
