About 18 months ago, Jim started talking about all the opportunity he saw in the pallet business. He has an eye for that…all the business opportunities that should be turned into something! So he started poking around and true to form, began striking up conversations and bringing home prospects. I always joke that he could sell ice to an Eskimo! The first few months, he and the boys repaired pallets evenings and weekends. My records show that our first load of freshly repaired pallets numbered 146, and was the only load we sold that month, hauled by Jim’s pickup and gooseneck trailer. Last week, by comparison, we loaded various van trailers and gooseneck trailers with over 3600 pallets. Of course when the dust dies down for the day, the shop can turn into a fun play area for the boys in the evenings. The big boys are old enough to be really helpful…and the little boys just need a skidloader and a pile of sawdust!
